Our complex, in the city suburb of West Rockhampton, opened in 1993 as 'Kitts & Katts Boarding Cattery'. To avoid any disappointment, if your plans change, please advise us A.S.A.P. This applies to both arrivals and pick up times. Caution should be taken if arriving unexpectedly. As an added precaution, guard dogs patrol the confines if owners are away during the day and also at night. As required by the E.P.A. and the R.R.C, our residence is on site. An overnight stay incurs an extra fee as well, especially for dogs, since the pets are usually unsettled and our settling procedures are to no good end. The botanical aspect provides a welcoming place to board your pets while still being conveniently situated in town. Long weekends and Public holidays have similar tariffs. A tariff applies for Saturday/Sunday stays, with a minimum fee equal to two nights stay. Should you cancel a booking made for school holiday periods, a booking fee may be retained and the balance either credited or refunded provided the pen is filled at short notice, which is often the case. We accept cash, cheques or Electronic Funds Transfer (a week prior to boarding). School holiday bookings require a deposit for your booking to be accepted. Full payment should be made when booking in or a deposit equal to half the stay's fees and the balance paid on return. Your permission is required to seek veterinary attention if necessary; the fees then being wholly your responsibility upon your return. may apply. With regards to our hours of operation, we may be able to make an exception to the rule for 'out of towners' but at our discretion, an 'out of hours' fee of $25. late afternoon. On Saturday we only open in the morning and on Sunday we open. We have morning and afternoon sessions Monday to Friday. We are open 7 days a week, excluding public holidays and if necessary, other days will be advised when booking. Individual 'time out' is given morning and evening in our fully fenced (8ft ht) shaded yard behind the courtyard kennels. For dogs, cool indoor pens, in addition to the fully enclosed, we have courtyard pens for the dog which is 'kennel friendly' and can tolerate a neighbour. There is no discount given for the supply of your own food. Special diets must be supplied eg. Iams or Urinary products. Fussy eaters are offered tuna or the like for cats and rolls/loaves for dogs. Boarding fees include the supply of fresh meat or mince for the main meal at night and dry food is given in the morning. We do not give daily heartworm tablets to dogs. However, if the pet's monthly flea/tick and or heartworm is due while boarding, we will administer that without charge. A fee applies for any medication supplied to be given. The pens allow two cats from the same family to share and three small dogs or two large dogs for example, from the same family, may share a pen in each respective facility. The cattery and kennels are separate buildings and each have individual pens for added safety and monitoring of the pets diet if necessary. C5 for dogs and F3 for cats are done yearly for life. We built a new kennel block, upgraded an existing building and opened the dog boarding section in 1998 and changed the name accordingly. If you have to phone when away, please do so the day before your expected return, to arrange a new appointment since.
